RWM, the UK waste management industry’s leading trade show, has been bought by events organiser The PRYSM Group, which is to co-locate the show with its range of environmental conferences.
The show, which will continue to be run in partnership with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), will now only be held across two days, and will be held on 12-13 September this year, rather than starting on the 11 September as previously advertised.
Bristol-based PRYSM has acquired the show from Ascential PLC, though commercial terms have not been disclosed.
Following the acquisition of the show, PRYSM has announced that it will be moving its entire collection of environmental exhibitions to the NEC to run alongside RWM. The European Contamination Series, which includes the Hazardous Waste Expo, the Spill Response Expo and Land Remediation Expo, as well as the Flood Expo and Marine and Coastal Civil Engineering Expo, will all run alongside the conference.
According to the organisers, over 500 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors travel to RWM every year, but with exhibitors reportedly worried about dwindling numbers, the addition of the portofolio of shows will ensure a greater catchment of visitors.
