WRAP material reports show rise in packaging volumes

The UK’s Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has published its Material Flow 2025 reports, which show that the quantity of packaging material made from glass, paper and card, and steel has increased by four per cent. Aluminium packaging is estimated to have risen by 11 per cent.

The reports also provide estimates for the likelihood of meeting recycling targets. According to the results, the UK is already meeting the proposed EU Circular Economy Package (CEP) targets for aluminium and steel, and is likely to reach the CEP targets for paper and card by 2020, and for glass by 2025.
