Progeva, mitigation actions for the reduction of carbon emissions

Carbon footprint is a measure of the impact that human activities have on the greenhouse effect. Expressed in equivalent tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2 eq), carbon footprint measures how much CO2 is given off in the production of given goods and services.

As quality and environmental compatibility of its production processes have always been at the heart of its concerns, Progeva has now introduced a certification process to help combat climate change.

With technical and scientific support from Agreenment srl, the academic spin-off of the University of Basilicata, it has performed a “life cycle evaluation” of products, processes and activities all along the fertilizer production cycle, from the procurement of raw materials right through to their exhaustion, disposal and/or end of life (“from the cradle to the grave”).
