Mater-Bi is the ideal choice for food packaging. It meets all technical and commercial requirements for both rigid and flexible packaging, with or without barrier properties, ensuring the preservation of organoleptic characteristics and shelf-life fully comparable to traditional materials.
Mater-Bi is also ideal for single-serve capsules. Thanks to new grades and compatibility with three processing technologies, Mater-Bi offers different levels of oxygen barrier performance to meet the various needs of the market:
- Injection-molded Mater-Bi capsules
- Thermoformed Mater-Bi capsules
- Cellulose pulp capsules thermo-laminated with film (liner), which can also be composted at home.
Mater-Bi capsules are biodegradable and compostable in compliance with UNI-EN 13432 and are suitable for food contact with products such as coffee, tea, and herbal infusions (Reg. 10/2011). Moreover, they guarantee a minimum content of 60% plant-based materials, which can be increased to 100% upon request.
