European Standard EN 17427
Packaging – Requirements and test scheme for bags suitable for treatment in well-managed home composting plants
EN 17427 (Packaging — Requirements and test scheme for carrier bags suitable for treatment in well-managed home composting installations) defines requirements and test methods for bags made of any material intended for home composting systems, under well-managed conditions, with a composting cycle of at least 12 months.
It establishes the basis for labeling plastic bags suitable for home composting.
TÜV Austria Certification – OK HOME
All compostable raw materials, intermediates, and finished products suitable for home composting are eligible under this scheme. The main references are EN 13432 and EN 14995, adapted to home composting requirements.
Certain Mater-Bi grades intended for specific applications have obtained TÜV Austria OK HOME certification and carry the reference number S0001.
