The issues relating to the management and disposal of municipal waste is one of the major environmental priorities of our time because they involve all areas of society and land from rural to urban.
In 2008 the European Union enacted the Waste Framework Directive, which marks the birth of a “recycling society”, i.e. a social context that seeks to minimize waste and work to develop the re-use of materials. From this concept comes the need to promote and facilitate the separate collection of the different fractions that make up municipal solid waste. The separate collection of organic waste is of strategic importance for the environmental sustainability of waste management
The use of biodegradable and compostable bags made from MATER-BI is proven to be an indispensable tool for the most effective separate collection of organic waste for use in the production of high quality composts and digestates.
